One Wild Moment: French Film Review

Default

One Wild Moment (French title: Un moment d' garement) is a 2015 French comedy-drama film directed by Jean-Fran ois Richet. It is a remake of the 1977 film Un moment d' garement, directed by Claude Berri. The movie stars Vincent Cassel, Fran ois Cluzet, Alice Isaaz, and Lola Le Lann on film debut.

Plot: The plot revolves around Antoine and Laurent, two divorced fathers who take their respective daughters, Louna and Marie, on vacation in Corsica. The seventeen-year-old Louna falls in love with Laurent and seduces him one drunken night on the beach. He instantly regrets their night together, but Louna does everything she can to make him fall in love with her too.

Review: One Wild Moment is a remake of Claude Berri s 1977 movie of the same name and could be partially described as a reverse Lolita. The story portrays the uncomfortable dynamics between an older man and a young woman relentlessly pursuing him. The movie explores several unethical themes that make it an uneasy viewing experience.

The four main characters and the actors portraying them have amazing chemistry and work extremely well together; however, the central theme of the plot treads into uncomfortable territories. Despite this, the movie still has its moments with great comedy and engaging character dynamics.

Overall, One Wild Moment offers thought-provoking content but may not be suitable for all audiences due to its controversial themes.
